Upper V (Year 11 GCSE)

During the first part of Upper V, you will be working on the coursework element of the GCSE Art, Craft and Design course which you began in Lower V. Remember your coursework as a whole, is worth 60% of your entire course. You will then complete a second project, which is introduced in February of the Lent Term, and this will be based on a theme set by the exam board, Edexcel. Throughout both your coursework and your externally set assignment, you will be expected to show evidence of where you have met the four key assessment objectives.

The four Assessment Objectives are:

AO1: Develop ideas through investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and cultural understanding
AO2: Refine ideas through experimenting and selecting appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes
AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions in visual and/or other forms
AO4: Present a personal, informed and meaningful response demonstrating analytical and critical understanding, realising intentions and, where appropriate, making connections between visual, written, oral or other elements.
